On April 25, 1938, the infamous episode of the death of 25 homeless people in the small village of Vidhirashwatpuram in the Mysore Presidency, surfaced. The peasantry has undoubtedly been one of the oldest subjects of conflict in the British Empire's colonial regime over India. The agitation revolved around the peasants. One important agitation of his life was the Ramdurg agitation. The specifications of his parentage are unknown. He was also arrested on in regard to his participation in the Quit India movement. In 1927 he was prosecuted under section 124-A, I. He became the First Secretary of the Maharashtra Provincial Congress Committee in the year 1920. He participated in multiple movements including the Bombay Home Rule movement, Salt Satyagraha, and the Quit India Movement, and also was involved in protests against Simon Commission.ĭev joined the Indian National Congress Party. Later he got his degree from Baroda College. He completed his schooling at the Bhave School in Poona. Shankar Rao Dev was born on 28th January 1895 in Bombay.
